Class T and Class SM coupling for sucker rods are manufactured as per API Specification 11B. For the thread cutting, we are using cold form rolled by displacing rather than by removing of material for making the coupling thread. The thread rolling cutting results in a compressive stress at the root of the thread, giving maximum strength to the traditional weak point of cut-thread couplings.
Class T coupling is using AISI 5140 to manufacture. The coupling is coated using phosphate chemical treatment or black oxide on customer's request. For Class SM coupling, the spray metal is a specification hardening process and is applied on the base metal.
The couplings are available in full size, slim hole and over size. Also, combination couplings are available for different diameters (sub-coupling) for both Class T and Class SM couplings.
We recommend changing sucker rod couplings after three make-ups, provided the connection threads have been inspected and deemed acceptable for reuse.
Grade T Sucker Rod Couplings
These couplings are made up of 5140 alloy steel and are very resistant to hydrogen embrittlement.
Grade SM CO-HARD Sucker Rod Couplings
These couplings are made up of 5140 alloy steel and are very resistant to hydrogen embrittlement. In order to yield a strong metallurgical bond between the base metal of the coupling and the spray metal coating. Advanced thermal spraying technology is adopted to melt Ni alloy and other high wear-resisting materials on the blank surface of the collar after high temperature flame spraying, so as to reduce the friction coefficient between the anti-wear collar and the oil pipe to 0.01, which is an effective combination of high hardness and low friction, thus improving the service life of the rod and pipe in oil exploitation.

1. Designed and manufactured according to API spec 11B.
2. The couplings are manufactured in grades SM and DES.
3. Increased wear and corrosion resistance.
4. Surface treatment includes black coating, phosphating or as per the customers requirement.
